a design school founded in Weimar, Germany in 1919 by Walter Gropius and others, with the intent to develop a form of training relating art and architecture with machine-age daily life. For political reasons, the school was relocated to Dessau, Germany in 1925, to a newly-built school designed by Gropius. The school was disbanded under the Nazis, a group that Wright despised.
